What is custom, hand crafted, solid wood furniture?

One of a kind..

No one piece at Philadelphia Table Company is an exact match to another. Whether it’s a common style that we sell a lot of, or a ‘from scratch’ design tailored specifically to you, every piece takes on its own story. Sometimes the specific wood selected for your piece dictate what can and can’t be done. It is important to embrace this and celebrate the fact that your table is like no other. There are no duplicates. No copy and pasting. Just passionate woodworkers providing a one of a kind product to you that can last generations.

Hand crafted with passion…

At Philadelphia Table Company, it is important to us to not only provide a top notch experience for our clients, but also for our highly skilled makers. A company is only sustainable if its employees are prideful in what they are doing. We are proud to say that our makers are carefully selected to ensure that they are just as excited to start your project as you are to receive it. Take one step into our makers’ workshop and you can see that our staff wear their passion for woodworking on their sleeve. With that being said, it is crucial to be aware that there can be some slight deviation on projects in relation to measurements. PTC furniture is crafted by hand from the beginning of the milling process all the way up to the white glove delivery. All of this done by people living in the local community; shopping at the same shops and rooting for the same inconsistently frustrating sports teams (Go birds!).

Organic characteristics of solid wood…

Same design, same exact look? Ehh, not quite. At Philadelphia Table Company we primarily work with solid wood lumber that is sourced locally from our trusted providers throughout the region. It is important to understand that when working with solid wood, there are natural organic characteristics that are unavoidable such as knots, splits, and worm holes. At PTC we celebrate the beauty of any voids in the wood by filling them with the highest quality epoxy systems on the market so that the structural integrity of the piece is unaffected, but the individuality of each piece of wood is preserved.

Are we the right fit for you?

At Philadelphia Table Company we understand that our style isn’t for everyone. In an effort to help control the quality of the product that we provide, it is important to us that we don’t spread ourselves too  thin when it comes to the woodworking process.  Through our experience in the custom fabrication world, we found that too many options can be disastrous. By choosing to go with a one of a kind PTC piece, we ask that you trust our judgement in options that we provide. Our policies have been tried and tested by our highly knowledgeable staff of makers to ensure that the end result is a product that exceeds your expectations.  And hey…if we aren’t the right fit for you, no sweat! Let us refer you to someone that better suits your needs.
